I've always liked the rugged coast west of Auckland. When I grew up we always had dogs, and some of the beaches were great for walking them. Sadly that's now a lot harder, as the few have spoiled the off lead areas for the rest. Piha is nice, but it's always busy, but beaches like Anawhata are a lot quieter. Great for peaceful reflections. The road to Anawhata is windy and unsealed, but it does offer some nice views over Piha as well - see the third image.

A peaceful sunset at Piha, after a warm Saturday afternoon.

Mount Eden 2

Another evening walk up Mount Eden. I seem to pick the windiest evenings to do this, which really doesn't make long exposure photography easy.

2017 Favourites

As the year comes towards and end, I've had a look back through the photos I have taken. There are thousands of aviation related pictures, but here are some of my favourite non-aviation ones. I hope you enjoy them!

Mount Eden

This weekend has been rather cloudy - easterly breezes and an anti-cyclonic gloom. Yesterday evening though, the clouds parted a bit to produce a lovely sunset over the city. Here are some of my views from the Mount Eden summit.
